The eighth annual Bierbörse, a favorite of local craft beer enthusiasts, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 6 in Downtown Rapid City. Try a selection of beers in two microbrew tents, participate in a beer stock exchange, dance to the musical stylings of the Polkanauts, test your strength in a stein holding competition, and more. The event is free and open to all ages. IDs are required to consume alcohol.
Beer Stock Exchange
The Bud Light Beverage Garden, a division of Quality Brands, will be set up as a beer stock exchange. The German word Bierbörse translates to beer stock exchange and Main Street Square is equipped with software to run a stock exchange. In the stock exchange, the price of beer will vary from $2 to $8, and price is dependent on demand. For example, if Crow Peak Eleventh Hour is very popular, the price will rise. If no one is drinking Shock Top Sunset Orange, the price will plummet and possibly crash. When a beer’s value is low, it will cost a minimum of $2. If it is high in demand, it may cost up to $8.
Special thanks to our event sponsor 605 Magazine and our beverage garden sponsor Bud Light.

Tiny ghouls and goblins invade Main Street Square for an afternoon of ghostly family fun. Scare in the Square is held in conjunction with the Downtown Rapid City Business Group’s Downtown Trick-or-Treat.
Both events are free. Children and parents are encouraged to wear costumes, bring their own trick-or-treat bags and meet at Main Street Square, where they may pick up a map of participating Downtown businesses. Downtown motorists are asked to be aware of trick-or-treaters throughout the day.
